Ramban, Mar 21: Two persons were arrested after banned drug was found from their possession in Ramban districts of Jammu region, officials said.
According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), police said that “a big consignment of banned drug has been seized and two persons arrested.”
Giving details of the incident, Senior Superintended of Police (SSP) Ramban, Haseeb-ur-Rehman said that on a specific information, a naka was laid at Jawahar tunnel and during checking, one Santro car bearing registration no JK01P-6306 was stopped and 2000 capsules of drug Spasmo Proxyvon plus, being transported illegally, have been recovered from the vehicle and two persons identified as Asif Ishtaq, son of Ishtaq Ahmad and Bilal Ahmad Mir, son of Ali Mohammad Mir of Tanki Pora Srinagar have been arrested.
In this regard, a case under FIR number 47/2020 under section 8/21/22 NDPS ACT stands registered at PS Banihal and investigation taken up to ascertain backward and forward linkages.
The recovery as well as the arrests has been made by Police team of Police post Jawahar tunnel headed by Sub-Inspector Wasim Mehraj, guided by Station House Officer (SHO) Police Station Banihal Abid Hussain Bukhari under the close supervision of SDPO Banihal Ashish Gupta, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and overall supervision of Haseeb ur Rehman SSP Ramban
