Kupwara, Apr 10: The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district has gone up to 13 after four more people under quarantine tested positive on Thursday.
According to Wire Service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), four people under quarantine, tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday.
An official said that among the four positive cases, three belong to Tangdhar and were traced out by the surveillance team. “They had returned from Delhi a couple of days ago.”
Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ansul Garg told KNO that three positive cases from Tangdhar, all were traced by the surveillance team and are linked to Delhi Nizamuddin Markaz.
He said that all the positive cases are asymptomatic and were under quarantine at Tangdhar earlier. “They are being shifted to COVID-19 hospital Kupwara after testing positive.”
He said that the fourth case who tested positive was tested by authorities in Baramulla and wasn’t referred by district administration Kupwara. DC said that the contact tracing of positive cases was underway and requested all to cooperate to break the chain.
The officials said that the areas where positive cases have been reported will be declared as red zones to prevent further spread of the virus
