Bandipora, April 03: Officials deployed to monitor, surveillance and Naka checking operations for Covid-19 initiated by Tehsil Administration in different areas of Ajas tehsil of North Kashmir’s District Bandipora, have alleged that they are doing the job without requisite equipments, since last 15 days and are at high risk to catch the infection in absence of PPEs.
Officials from Ajas Bandipora , which is merely at a distance of 14 KMs from the district head quarter in Bandipora town, while narrating their woes to CNS, alleged that some teachers, among other officials have also been deputed for door to door survey in the area to check probable with travel history and in infected areas of the district have not been even provided or gloves for their safety and thus they and their families are at a great risk.
Officials also said that they have been on toes for last fortnight, ever since the outbreak of pandemic in the area, without any break, without a let up, without any protective gear.
They said, “We have brought our plight and exposure to the risk into the notice of the Executive Magistrate Ajas, but he is prevaricating, the inevitable requirement, on one or the other pretext”
They issued an appeal to the authorities at to provide them with full protective equipment as soon as possible, to avoid the threat to their lives.
Meanwhile, Tehsildar Ajas was not available for his comments over the allegation of the officials, as he did not respond to repeated calls, from CNS reporter to seek his comment.
When the complaint was brought into the knowledge of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shahbaz Mirza, he assured that the genuine grievances of the officials will be addressed and they will be provided with required equipments.
