Large number of people participated in the last rites of slain militants

Kulgam, April 5:  Two of the four militants killed in Kulgam encounter were laid to rest on Sunday morning.

   Four militants identified as Ajaz Ahmed Naikoo alias Mosa of Chimmer HD Pora Kulgam, Shahid Ahmed Malik of Khull DH Pora Kulgam, Waqar Farooq of Chawalgam Kulgam and Muhammad Ashraf Malik alias Sadam were killed on Saturday encounter at Khurbatapora area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

   Sources told Kashmir News Trust that over 3,000 people participated in the last rites of Hizb militant Waqar Farooq at Chawalgam Kulgam and Shahid Sadiq Malik at Khul Ahamadabad. During evening hours two rounds of funeral prayers were offered by people for these militants, and today they were laid to rest.

   Two other militants, Ajaz Ahmed Naikoo alias Mosa of Chimmer and Muhammad Ashraf Malik alias Sadam were laid to rest on Saturday night.

  Sources said that after the completion of burial of Shahid Sadiq Malik, people pelted stones on the vehicle of SDPO DH Pora who was passing through the village. Police retaliated and fired several tear-smoke shells.

   An official said that situation is under control in Kulgam and there is complete lock-down
