KISHTWAR, MAY 02: Fourteen Sheep’s killed in an attack by a leopard on Thursday at Kurna Village of Thakrie block in Kishtwar district.
As per the details, leopard killed the sheep’s belonging to a cattle farmer Taj Dien son of Mir Hussain. The incident has sent shivers down the spine of villagers here as this is one of the biggest such incidents in recent times in the area.
Thakrie police has taken cognisance in this regard.
Meanwhile Former MLA from Inderwal, G. M Saroori expressed his sympathy with the victim and urged the Forest department to observe the movement and a cage should be kept to trap the leopard.
Saroori also took up the matter with the divisional Commissioner and district administrations for releasing the compensation in favour of victim according to SDRF norms immediately so that the poor farmer will get some sigh of relief.
