Makeshift bridge declared Unsafe for vehicle movement, Locals suffer
Ganderbal, May 29: While countries like China and others complete mighty projects in short span of time but in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal area a bridge awaits completion from last one decade.
The delay in completion of this Akhal bridge has left people in Lurch. They are now tired of roaming from office to office but authorities are unmoved.
This Akhal-Kangan Bridge Connect dozens of Villages to Sub Division Kangan, it was recently declared as unsafe due to which locals suffer a lot.
Local residents said that construction on Kangan-Akhal Bridge was started around 10 years ago but the work on the bridge is going on at snail’s pace. “If this approach continues, it will take decades to complete the construction of bridge”.
A Local resident said we are facing lot of problems, we are being forced to take patients like pregnent woman on shoulders to reach Trauma hospital Kangan, this bridge connects dozens of villages to Subdivision, R&B department is playing hide and seek with us.
He added We are tired of giving representations to almost every concerned govt official, nobody is listening to us.
Residents have requested Governor administration and Deputy commissioner Ganderbal to immediately redress their grievance.
