Srinagar, 27June: Residents of Khanmoh area are aghast over the absence of medical and paramedical staff at Primary Health Center Khonmoh, since the last few months.
A delegation of the Welfare Committee Khanmoh on Saturday told CNS that there is not a single staffer available in Public Health Center Khanmoh, due to which a large chunk of the local population is suffering.
They said that all the doctors, nursing staff and technicians posted there have been shifted for COVID duty and presently there is not a single soul available in the center in the shape of medical or paramedical staff.
They demanded that at least there should be a minimal staff available in the center, for attending medical emergencies and maternity-related issues.
Abdul Rashid a member of the delegation said that registered their protest with Chief Medical Officer (CMO)Srinagar Dr. Jahangir Bakhshi and appraised him about their difficulties due to the non-availability of medical and paramedical staff in Public Health Center Khonmoh, which they said is locked since the onset of Covid-19 pandemic; however, they said that the response of the CMO was very encouraging, who promised them that the necessary staff will be made available to the PHC within a week.
While thanking the CMO for lending a empathetic ear to their plea, they requested Dr. Jahangeer Bakhshi to fulfill his promise and make the staff available to the center at the earliest.
