Kupwara, June 01: Jammu and Kashmir police Monday claimed to have arrested a man from Amrohi area in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district, who was tasked to deliver arms and ammunition to a militant outfit in Kashmir.
Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that a man from Amrohi area of Karnah in Kupwara district was arrested after developing some inputs about a consignment received from across the border.
A police official said that inputs were developed about a person who had received a consignment of some incriminating material from across the border and has been assigned the job to deliver it to the unknown militant organisation in the valley.
A police spokesperson said upon this information a team of police from police post Taad area apprehended the suspected person and conducted search of the area which led to the recovery of huge incriminating material which include ten grenades, four wireless sets 4 and 200 rounds of AK 47.
He identified the apprehended persons as Mohd Hafeez Raina son of Safi ur Rahman Raina a resident of Amrohi Karnah. In this regard police said a case FIR No. 40/2020, U/s 7/25 IA Act and section 13 UA(P) Act in police station Karnah has been registered. Further investigations going on.
