Srinagar, June 15: Casual Labourers Monday staged a protest here in Srinagar, demanding regularization.
Scores of daily rated workers assembled here in Press Enclave Srinagar under the banner of J&K Casual Labours United Front and urged upon government to resolve their regularization issue and only after then proceed with job policy.
“Government is likely to recruit about 50, 000 employees in different categories including 10,000 in class-1V grade by direct recruitment. Before this direct recruitment, government should regularize those casual labourers who are serving in different departments from past 2 decades,” the protesting labourers told news agency KNT.
They said before any fresh recruitment are made and till Minimum Wages Act 2019 is implemented, they should be regularized under SRO 64 of 1994. “If our issue is not addressed, we will hit the roads on daily basis,” the protesters said.
