Bandipora, 13 June: Traffic movement was disrupted on the Bandipora-Srinagar National Highway on Saturday for several hours after a cylinder type suspicious object was detected along roadside near Gamroo-Lawdara crossing in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
An official told news agency —CNS, that a suspicious object was found in attached with a gas cylinder along the roadside this morning in Gamroo area of Bandipora near crossing by the Road opening party of Army.
He said that traffic movement was immediately stopped from both the sides and a team of Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was called in.
“Suspicious object was defused and traffic was restored after several hours,” he added.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bandipora, Rahul Malik told CNS that the suspicious object which was found along roadside has been destroyed by Bomb Disposal Squad and FIR has been registered in this regard and further investigations have been taken up.
