Decided to conduct offline exams for B.ed students in August: Controller Examination Kashmir University
Srinagar, July 7: As Kashmir university issued semester examination notification for all courses, the students pursuing B.ed in various colleges of valley have accused the KU Administration for neglecting them as not a single advisory has been issued in this regard.
The duration of the B.ed course is only two years but the students are yet to complete the course as those enrolled in 2017 have only appeared in two semester end term examinations while the batch 2018 have not appeared in any examination.
The students accused authorities for about the inordinate delay in ensuring timely completion of their two year’s degree which has now consumed four years of the students.
“Amid Covid-19, the KU Administration has issued separate advisories for almost every course but we are being neglected as they are least bothered about the completion of our two year degree course which is now being delayed for four years and our course is still incomplete,” one of the student told news agency Kashmir News Bureau.
The students allegedly said that the KU administration has announced the decision for conducting examination and assessment of students for all courses leaving B.Ed courses so far and once again playing with our career by delaying our semester examination.
Another student said, ” All the B.Ed students are now in a state of despair given the prolonged extension of their course due to which we are lagging behind as compared to the students enrolled in other courses.”
He further said, “The University should take our course into consideration and issue notices for conducting our pending exams in order to avoid any further delay in completion of the course.”
When Kashmir News Bureau contacted Controller Examination Kashmir University, Farooq Ahmad, he said,” The B.Ed students admitted in private colleges are not only locals but from other states too. So it is not possible to call them for examination in view of Covid pandemic.”
He further added, ” We have already met with Private B.Ed college Association and decided to conduct examination through offline mode in the month of August.”
