Pulwama, July 6: A youth from Drabgam village of southern Kashmir’s Pulwama, who had gone missing a couple of days back, has reportedly joined militant ranks.
Purported picture of the youth has gone viral on social media in which he could be seen brandishing weapons and announcing his association with Hizbul Mujahideen (HM). The youth has been identified as Arshid Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Hassan Dar.
According to the purported photo, code name of Arshid is Huzaifa, active from July 04, 2020.
Arshid, according to family sources, was missing from last two days. However, it was not immediately known whether the family has filed a missing report in the concerned police station.
Uploading photos on social media while brandishing weapons, this has been a signature style of youth announcing their joining into the militant organizations from the last few years.
Meanwhile, a police officer told KNT that they were ascertaining the authenticity of the viral picture and investigating it from all angles.
