Says what others couldn’t do in 70 years, BJP did in a few years, Shikargah-Nageberan to be brought on tourism map
Srinagar, July 08: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K spokesman Altaf Thakur today said that despite Covid-19 challenge, development is in a full swing as even roads in remote areas of Tral are being mecdamised for the first time in 70-years. He said BJP is seriously pursuing to bring Shikargah-Nageberan area on the tourist map given its tourism potential.
In a statement issued here, Thakur said that BJP is on way to fulfill its promise of making Tral a model town in J&K UT. “For the first time in 70-years, Tral-Machama, Tral-Sathoora and Tral-Kahil roads are being mecdamised. What others couldn’t do in 70 years, BJP did in a few years,” Thakur said.
He said BJP is ensuring that the Covid-19 doesn’t become a hurdle on way of developing Tral as a model town in the J&K. “Covid-19 pandemic apart, we are ensuring that development doesn’t become a victim. Today, Tral is on the path of a new era of development and prosperity,” Thakur said.
He said the important road project of Bhatnoor-Gujarbasti, that is partly repaired, will be taken up with the Central government and work will soon start on it so that people travel at ease on the road stretch that connects Tral with the remote areas where nomadic population stays.
Thakur said that work has been started on the Shikargah-Tral Hangul Breeding Centre where rare specifies of Hangul will be kept and their breed protected. “The aim is to increase the number of Hangul population in Tral and its upward areas,” he said.
Thakur said that Bhatnoor-Pahalgam road stretch is being developed as the shortest route for the people of Central Kashmir and north Kashmir to reach the picturesque tourist destination. “More manpower will be deployed on the road to speed up the work so that road is ready for travel in a month’s time,” he said, adding that BJP is on the path of development in Kashmir and that Tral will touch new heights in development, peace and prosperity in the years ahead.
