Will sort out the matter as soon as possible: Commissioner Secretary Jal Shakti
Srinagar, July 20: At a time when the entire nation is fighting against Coronavirus and the government is trying its best to ease the difficulties of the public, employees of Public Health Engineering (PHE) ofJAL Shakti department across valley are in anguish facing massive issues of salary delaying, GP fund withholding and major the affair of not being shifted from their working place since from last ten years.
Scores of the employees of JAL Shakti department in a state of perturbation accused the higher authorities of paying deaf ear towards their pleas and entrusting them towards hardships as the maximum number of promotions, salaries, GP fund are withheld and numerous field staff of the department are working at the same place without shifting from last 10-15 years.
The employees further alleged that despite various pipelines having been imparted in various areas, almost the entire valley faces the water crises as the pipelines run short of sources.
“I have been working in the department since ten years posted in the same area never being shifted even as the order of shifting of employees working at the same place for more than three years was issued in the month of February,” told one of the employees to Kashmir News Bureau.
“Our files are stalked in the offices waiting for approval since when our prior Commissioner was transferred and M Raju has been posted at his place,” he further said.
Another employee said, “Employees in the PHE department are facing huge problems, many of us are waiting for our promotion, files of which were submitted in the department years ago yet to be signed, while many of us are waiting for the release of salaries and GP funds withheld in the department. As the whole country is confronting the pandemic, everyone is facing financial crises. This is going to add more difficulties to us ahead of Eid.”
Pertinently from past few weeks protests are constantly being held in various areas of the Kashmir valley as taps are running dry leading to water crises, locals facing an acute shortage of drinking water, the areas facing water scarcity include Nawa Kadal, Safa Kadal, Karan Nagar, Batamaloo, Nawab Bazar, Fateh Kadal, Habba Kadal Rajouri Kadal, Bemina, Sanat Nagar, Chanapora, Natipora, Mehjoor Nagar.
When Kashmir News Bureau contacted Commissioner Secretary M Raju said, “I have recently taken the charge, I was not having any information about the said issue, you have brought this issue into my notice, I will surely sort out the matter as soon as possible.”
