Srinagar, July 25: The Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested a Kashmir University Student Activist in connection with an FIR registered against him in 2018 under the stringent Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) for his alleged active role in anti-natonal activities.
Sources told news agency Kashmir dot Com (KDC) that the student Activist idenfied as Aaqib Ahmad Malik son of Mushtaq Ahmad Malik a resident of Aglar Pinjura area of south Kashmir’s shopian district was formly summoned by Nigeen police station on Friday in connection with an FIR registered against him in 2018 in which he has been booked under stringent ULAP Act.
A police official while confirming the arrest of Aaqib Malik told KDC that he was arrested in connection with an FIR number 68/2018 US 13 ,of unlawful Activities Act registered against him in 2018.
“He was booked for his alleged active participation in anti-natonal activities in university campus and dent image of law enforcing agencies besides causing disaffection against the country”,he added.
Family sources told KDC that Aqib was also earlier arrested by police this year in February under preventive detention act 107/151 and was detained in central Jail Srinagar for the period of eight (8) days. (KDC)
