Srinagar, July 2: Students in Kashmir are facing immense problems due to frequent suspension of internet services during encounters.
The latest was reported from Tral Pulwama after many students missed their online examination on Wednesday when the internet was suspended during an encounter there.
“We had an online examination in Urdu paper on Wednesday. But we missed the examination as the internet was suspended in Tral during the encounter,” a 4th semester student in Urdu Department of University of Kashmir told news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS).
Another student said they contacted concerned officials but to no avail.
“We missed our exam because of internet suspension. This is not our fault. But nobody is helping us,” another student said.
The frequent suspension of 2G internet services in Kashmir during encounters is causing huge problems for college and university students who are appearing for their online internal examinations.
Registrar Kashmir University Professor Nisar Ahmad Mir told this reporter to talk to In-charge examinations Tral.
“You should talk to the college principal there,” KU Incharge examination Tral told KINS and dropped the call.
The intensity of encounters has increased in the past few months in Kashmir valley.
When the internet was restored in January this year, the authorities decided to ban the high speed internet and allowed only 2G speeds.(KINS)
