Srinagar, July 22: Two Over Ground Workers (OGW’s) from central Kashmir’s Budgam district were arrested in a joint operation by Army and police in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district late night on Tuesday, police said.
Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that during the naka checking which was laid by joint teams of Army’s 41 RR, Police and CRPF near GP hospital in Kupwara, a four- wheeler was intercepted and during search two persons were arrested.
Official sources said during questioning of the duo, it was learnt that both are over ground workers (OGWs) of Hizbul Mujahideen militant outfit. “The arrested duo were identified as Athar Yousuf Wani and Sahil Bashir, both the residents of Budgam,” they said.
Police sources said that an incriminating material including ammunition was recovered from arrested duo.
