Srinagar, August 20: Kashmir Valley Thursday received heavy rainfall breaking the two month long dry spell, brining relief from the hot summer and to farmers who were worried about their crops.
Srinagar received heavy rains in the afternoon and the spells continued till late evening, while in other districts of the valley rainfall started in the evening and continued till late.
As per meteorological department, the valley witnessed hot summer this year as temperature fluctuated between 32-35 Degrees Celsius.
Meteorological department said that on Tuesday Srinagar witnessed 35.9 Degrees Celsius breaking the 39 year old record.
The rainfall brought relief to the farmers by ending the dry spell and to the people who faced drinking water shortage.
Officials in Jal Shakti department told news agency Kashmir Dot Com- (KDC) that rainfall is a good indication for the people as it will replenish the water resources used for drinking and other purposes. (KDC)
