Khalida, Muzafar, Kamal put under house arrest, asked not to leave houses

Srinagar, Aug 4: Authorities have blocked the road leading to the houses of some politicians who have been directed to stay inside and don’t venture out from their residence here in Kashmir capital Srinagar.

Senior politician and senior Vice President Awami National Conference Muzafar Ahmed Shah told news agency KNT that the road leading to his home has been blocked just outside MLA Hostel.

“I have been verbally informed by Security Staff that Begum Khalida Shah, Dr Mustafa Kamal and I cannot leave our homes for today and tomorrow. This Curfew is not about ‘Covid’, it’s about ‘Coward,” he said.

He sarcastically said that it should have been time to celebrate and not to put the ‘Happy’ Public of Kashmir under Curfew.

Shah said that the meeting called for 5 August (Wednesday) by Dr Farooq Abdullah, at 11 am to be attended by National Conference, Awami National Conference, Congress, CPM, PDP, PC, PDF, PUF – all Participants of ‘The Gupkar Declaration’ 4 August 2019 is the reason for this Curfew.

“The Gupkar Declaration is alive and we all stand united, he said adding that there is a loud and clear message from the people of Jammu and Kashmir that they don’t accept the decision about abrogation of special status.
