‘Killers of BJP leaders killed: Police
Baramulla, Aug 18: Kreeri encounter ended on Tuesday with the killing of third militant. The gunfight that started yesterday after, militants killed two troopers and a cop resumed on second day. The joint forces blasted a hideout, killing the third militant. “The Kreeri gunfight here in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district ended with the killing of 3rd militant. Two troopers, two soldiers, a cop and militants were killed in the incident,” said an official to KNT.
The identity of the third slain militant has not been ascertained yet. “A total of three militants have been neutralized so far following the attack launched by militants on Monday and incriminating materials including arms and ammunition have been recovered,” said the official.
Last evening, top LeT commander Sajjad Haider, active in North Kashmir who was among the top 10 most wanted, and another militant Anayatullah Mir, were killed as joint forces chased the militants following an attack on police personnel.
According to police, there were three militants who came from the nearby dense orchards and started firing indiscriminately on the joint ‘naka’ team in Baramulla district’s Kreeri area leaving 3 security men dead.
Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar hold the slain militants responsible for the killing of BJP Bandipora leaders. In a tweet, police said that that (Sajjad @ Haider) and one of killer of foreign militant Usman of BJP leader Late Waseem Bari Sahab, his father and brother killed.
