Mob damages LAWDA vehicles, several employees got injured

Srinagar, Aug 17: The demolition team of the Enforcement Wing Lakes and Waterways Development Authority, demolished two illegal constructions of a single storey houses, Concrete Block, Shuttering for Plinth and roofing at Lashkari Mohalla NFR in GREENBELT, Shalimar and Harwan area .The illegal constructions were constructed taking undue advantage of the Covid-19 Lockdown. During demolition operation there was heavy resistance at Lashkari Mohalla NFR from the public followed with manhandling with the demolition team and police personnel. Also there was heavy stone pelting which resulted in the minor injuries of the some demolition members and some of the vehicles of the Enforcement Wing and Mechanical Division got damaged in which the front and rare glasses of the two trippers which were running nearby area on main road NFR, got completely damaged into pieces. The drivers/cleaners of these vehicles also received some minor injuries.       

     It is pertinent to mention here that amid Covid-19, when there is Lockdown everywhere the miscreants are taking undue advantage and indulging in illegal constructions but all such miscreants will not be allowed for any sort of violation and raising of illegal constructions/encroachments.

Also it is pertinent to mention here that Night Checking Naka’s are established to seize the trippers /load carriers carrying building material illegally are seized and FIRs are being registered in the concerned police stations.

It is as such requested that all the public residing within the LDA jurisdiction are once again informed that not to go for any sort of illegal constructions /encroachments. As the Enforcement wing will continue with the demolition of illegal constructions. Moreover the Tripper/Load carrier owners are directed not to carry any type of illegal construction material in the prohibited area of Dal/ Nigeen Lake without proper permission from the concerned agencies.
