Srinagar, Aug 3: with its president Mehbooba Mufti booked under Public Safety act (PSA) at her home the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today said it will observe August 5 as “black day”.
Addressing a press conference at party headquarters, lower rank party activists said that they will protest against the August 5 decision by BJP government to abrogate the special status of erstwhile state Jammu and Kashmir.
They said the unconstitutional measures had had an impact on J&K worse than that of the worst natural calamity.
Party activist Rouf Bhat according to news agency KDC said that the party will hold a protest on August 5 and location will not be disclosed yet.
He said they have faith in the Supreme Court of India and they will restore the special status of erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir.
The PDP called for “the time-honoured mechanism of dialogue and engagement with all the stakeholders”.
“Enforcing the peace of a graveyard and calling it normalcy is an illusion,” said Harbaksh Singh, another PDP senior activist said. (KDC)
