Send me his dead-body if you have killed him: Father of ‘abducted’ Army-man makes an appeal to militants

Clothes of Abducted Army man Found in Landoora Shopian orchard.

Srinagar, Aug 7:  After the clothes of a Territorial Army personnel abducted five days ago in Southern Kulgam district were found in an orchard in Shopian, the father of the abductee, has appealed to the kidnappers believed to be militants to confirm whether his son is in their possession or not.
According to news agency Kashmir Dot Com-(KDC), in a one minute sixteen second long audio-clip, viral on social media, Manzoor Ahmed, father of the Territorial Army personnel Shakir Manzoor, can be heard making the appeal.
“I’m appealing to the mujahideen that if my son is with them, let us know about it, and if he is not alive let us know that too, because I at least have a right to receive his dead body,” Manzoor says in the audio clip.
He says: “If my son is not with you, I appeal you to send me a signal or any message as it could be a murder committed by others as well.”
The family members had appealed to the abductors to release him issuing an apology on his behalf.
“We appeal to the abductors to please forgive him if he has committed a mistake and let him go for the sake of God,” a family member had said in a video appeal addressed to Shakir’s abductors.
On Friday morning, locals in Landoora village in Shopian, found the clothes of Shakir in an orchard.
Official sources told KDC that soon after locals spotted the clothes belonging to Shakir, the concerned police station was informed and a joint team of government forces rushed to the spot. As per officials the service of sniffer dogs were pressed into service and the area was cordoned off. Local sources said massive searches are underway in the area.
Pertinently, on 2 August this month, suspected militants abducted Shakir Manzoor from South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. The militants had also set his vehicle bearing registration number JK22B 3960 on fire. (KDC)
