Bandipora, 21 August: After a brief lull in the resignations three panchayat members resigned from their post of ward members and posted the resignation letters on Social networking sites on Friday from northern Kashmir’s Ajas village in Bandipora district.
According to news service Kashmir dot Com – (KDC) all the three panches belong to Ajas tehsil of Bandipora. These include Naseer Ahmad Rather son Attaullah Rather from Patumohalla Ajas, Mohammad Khazam Gojar Baniya, son of Abdullah Gojar of Bazipora Ajas and Mumtaz Ahmad Rather son of Ghulam Nabi Rather of Patumohalla Ajas.
In the three resignation letters purported to them that are viral on social media they have written that “we were panchayat members of our respective wards, but from today onwards we are not associated with anyone, we also resign from the post of ward members, we are common people now, we don’t have connections from anyone”.
One of the resigning ward member Naseer Ahmad confirmed their resignation to news service KDC without commenting further on the issue.
Last month BJP’s former Bandipora district President Waseem Bari, was killed, along with his father Basheer Ahmad and brother Suhail Basheer, outside his residence. Police had said two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) members were involved. (KDC)
