COVID-19 claims 14 more lives, toll reaches to 736

Srinagar, Sep 02: COVID-19 on Wednesday claimed 14 more lives in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, taking the toll of number of deaths related to deadly virus to 736.

Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that 14 patients who died of COVID-19 include an elderly man from Budgam, a 65-year-old man from Wandhama Ganderbal, a male patient from Kupwara presently residing at Bemina, a 65-year-old woman from Lalbazar, a 65-year-old woman from Buchpora, an 85-year-old woman from Kanemazar Srinagar, a female patient from Yaripora Kulgam, a male patient from Ashmuji Kulgam, a 65-year-old woman from Shangus Anantnag, a 45-year-old male from Simbal camp Jammu, 55-year old man from Billawar Kathua, a 55-year-old woman from Bagh-e-Bahu Jammu, a 50-year-old woman from Bishnah Jammu and a 65-year-old man from Chenani Udhampur.

An official from SMHS, Srinagar said that a patient from Budgam who was admitted on 28 August with hypertension, diabetes and other ailments and a patient from Lolab presently living at Bemina who was admitted on 19 August died on Wednesday.

An official from SKIMS said that a patient from Wandhama Ganderbal who was admitted on 25 August and a patient from Lalbazar Srinagar who was admitted on 30 August died on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, another official said two patients one each from Buchpora and Kanemazar who were tested positive for COVID-19 died in Srinagar.

An official from Kulgam district said that two patient one each from Yaripora and Ashmuji belt who died few days before were included in the bulletin on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, an official from Anantnag said that a patient from Shangus who had died of COVID-19 was also included in the daily bulletin on Wednesday.

An official from Jammu division said that three patients from Simbal Camp Jammu, Billawar Kuthua and Bagh-e-Bahu respectively died on Tuesday late night while as two patients one each from Bishnah Jammu and Chenani Udhampur died on Wednesday.

With 14 more deaths, the death toll in J&K has reached to 736 including 661 from Kashmir division and 75 from Jammu division.
