Srinagar, Sep 17: The organization comprising Sarpanchas and Panchs as members has decided to boycott ‘Back to Village2’ program in Kashmir Valley.
Sarpanchs and Panchs from different districts of Valley under the banner of Jammu Kashmir Panchat Conference Thursday staged a protest demanding ‘e-tendering’ rule introduced by the government should be annulled without delay.
The protest was led by Parvez Ahmed Bhat. He told news agency KNT that by introducing e-tendering, government has snatched the livelihood of unemployed youth.
“Now only card holder contractors can apply for construction works. Common unemployed youth are not card holders and thus can’t participate in e-tendering. Virtually they have become jobless,” he said.
The protesting people said that they will boycott ‘Back to Village2’ till government revoked this order.
