JKWP president Mir Junaid demands strict action against the officials involved in Shopian fake encounter

Srinagar, 19 September: The President of Jammu Kashmir Workers Party Mir Junaid,demanded strict action against the people involved in the fake encounter in Shopian.Expressing his rage over the issue Mir said, “such incidents are crimes against humanity, power has to act responsibly for people to respect it”. He said that such incidents at this critical time in the history of J&K are going to play as an antithesis to the dream of New Kashmir.He also said, “the officials must make it clear to the cadres that the lives of common people are their responsibility and no civilian life shall be compromised under any situation”. He said the war on terror must continue but innocent lives are much more valuable than any war.He also said that it is people who make up a country and people’s service is the national service.
He added that there was a need for swift justice in this case and it must be shown that rule of law exists in Kashmir. He also demanded adequate compensation to the families of the people who were killed in the fake encounter. Mir expressed his solidarity with the families of the murdered and said that whole Kashmir is with them in this moment of grief.
Mir stressed upon the point that such incidents cannot and must not be repeated at all and the forces must remember that their actions represent the actions of India on ground. He said,“while the forces are doing a tremendous job in fighting terror, the black sheep who bring bad name to the country must be dealt with harshly to make an example out of”
