Masoodi reviews progress of key sectors in Anantnag

ANANTNAG, SEPTEMBER 05: The Member Parliament Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency, Justice (Retd) Hasnain Masoodi today convened a meeting of officers of Health, RDD, Labour, Social Welfare, Engineers of PMGSY, R&B, Hydraulic & PDD along with BDC Chairperson and Sarpanchs to review the progress of various sectors.

MP asked for utilization of funds released for South Kashmir out of which Rs.45 crores were released for Anantnag district for purchase of ventilators, PP kits & facemasks.

The MP directed the engineers to ensure round the clock water and power supply in far-flung and remote areas besides, he also directed the DDC, Anantnag to get the work on construction of Media Complex started at Anantnag, which is a long pending demand of the Journalists of the district.

He also asked for establishment of a transformer bank and ensure that the workshops are fully functional for repairing damaged transformers.

The DDC Anantnag, K.K.Sidha apprised the MP about the overall developmental scenario of the district and said an action plan of Rs.633 crore  has been finalized under Jal Jeewan Mission under which all the households will get tap water by the end of 2022.

Regarding macadamization of roads in the district, the DDC said that 105 km road length has been black topped by PMGSY against a target of 150 km while as R&B has macadamised 139.85 km road length under various schemes in the district.

Regarding combating COVID-19, the DDC apprised the MP that out of 2416 total cases 1930 recovered whereas 430 cases are active positive in the district and 43373 COVID tests were conducted in the district till date.

In Agriculture and allied sectors, the DDC informed that during Kissan Pakwada more than 1 lac registrations have been made to facilitate farmers with credit linkages besides 9 FPOs are also being established in the district under NABARD.

He said all the departments along with PRIs shall organize fortnight awareness programme in the district from 16th September, 2020 at Dak Bungalow where the participants will be apprised about the various welfare and job oriented schemes of the government.

The DDC also said that digital X-Ray and USG are being installed at Sub District Hospital Shangus and the same facility will be provided for Sub District Hospital Kokernag.

The meeting was attended by JD Planning, SEs of R&B, Hydraulic, PDD, Ex. Er’s of PHE, R&B, PMGSY, PDD, Deputy CMO, ACD, all BDC Chairpersons of the district, Panchs, Sarpanchs  and other political leaders.
