On Tuesday 22 September 2020 I came to know about the torture of a minor boy and as my journalistic duties demand I visited the child and his family and tried to understand whatever had transpired. While I was talking to the child my collegue shot a video of the conversation, following which I erroneously posted it on a social networking site. The only intent behind posting the video was to bring out the truth, which I did my best to bring out. However, soon after I came to know that posting the video has been a serious error in judgement on my part for it hurt the sentiments of the family and also compromised the identity of the victim, which should have been kept confifential. I feel sorry for this poor choice of action and am putting forth an unconditional apology to each and every party concerned, most importantly the kid. I have also deleted the video from my social media wall. I urge everyone, who has shared the video, to delete it from their respective social media handles in the interest of protecting the child’s identity, delivery of justice.
