Srinagar, Sep 29: Two persons arrested by police in connection with the Amshipora alleged fake encounter case on Tuesday were sent to eight days of judicial remand by the Shopian district court.
Reportedly, the two arrested persons from Shopian district connected to the case are local “collaborators” who have been arrested by police on charges of “criminal conspiracy” under relevant sections in an FIR.
Director-General of Police Dilbag Singh while speaking with media persons on the sidelines of a cricket match at SK Stadium according to news agency Kashmir Dot Com- (KDC) said that the investigation into an alleged fake encounter in Shopian is in the final stages.
Three labourers from Rajouri were killed by the army in an alleged staged encounter in Amshipora Shopian and their families are demanding justice from them and handing over their bodies for proper burial.
Police this week said that the DNA results of the three killed youth matched positively matched with their families, confirming the family claims.
The Army, in a statement earlier this month, admitted that the powers vested in the soldiers under the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) were “prima facie exceeded” in the encounter. (KDC)
