Ganderbal, Oct 21: A truck on way to Ladakh from Srinagar met with an accident on dreaded Zojila Pass, resulting in the on spot death of the truck conductor and fatal injuries to the driver.
Both the victims are the residents of Khalmullah village of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
An official told news agency KNT that a truck (JK03B-4773) skidded off the road on Zojila Pass and fell into deep 400 feet gorge near Bajri Nallah.
The truck conductor identified as Abdul Wahid Khan son of Abdul Lateef Khan died on spot while the driver Muhammad Saleem Reshi son of Muhammad Yousuf Reshi was evacuated to hospital in serious condition.
The official added that the driver was referred to SKIMS Soura from local Public Health Centre.
A team is on the spot to retrieve the damaged truck, the official told KNT.
