Awantipora, Oct 12: Wild Life Team Monday captured a ‘Hangul’ in Awantipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district and shifted it to Dachigam National Park Srinagar.
An official told news agency KNT that after the information from locals that a ‘Hangul’ is roaming in Buhoo Awantipora area, Wild Life team from Tral rushed to spot and after hard efforts captured the ‘Hangul’.
Hangul or Kashmir Stag is one of the rarest deer in the world found only in Kashmir Valley. Last year, a ‘Hangul’ was captured from Tral area while a herd of around 6 to 8 deer were seen in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district recently.
The official said that captured ‘Hangul’ was shifted to Dachigam National Park Srinagar.
