Srinagar, Oct 28: Doctors Association Kashmir has distanced itself from the statement being attributed to it claiming that DAK has given a clean chit to the incumbent Director Health Services Kashmir in an alleged sexual harassment complaint filed by a Consultant.
A statement is being attributed to Dr Suhail Naik led DAK in which it is being claimed that a female doctor posted at Directorate Office has leveled false accusations against Director Health Service Kashmir at the instance of former Director for seeking transfer. The ‘malicious’ statement that seems to be product of some mischevious elements without waiting for the inquiry of the ‘Complaint Committee’ has claimed that
‘From reliable sources it has come to fore that the said lady doctor have started disinformation campaign against incumbent Director at the instance of former Director Health Services who lien stand terminated from Jammu and Kashmir Health Services and presently posted as DG in one of the departments of UT.
“We disassociate ourselves from the said statement and don’t know who issued it and who circulated it. We do believe that an inquiry should take place and we should not jump to any conclusion till the outcome of the inquiry,” General Secretary DAK, Dr Owais told news agency KNT.
President Dr Suhail Naik said that they have not any statement in this regard and they are ascertaining facts and trying to know the motive behind this press statement. “Our media cell has not issued any statement in this regard,” he added.
Pertinently, a female Consultant in a letter to LG Manoj Sinha has accused Director Health Services Kashmir of ‘sexual harassment’. The matter is being probed by Complaint Committee constituted by Health and Medical Education Department on the directions of LG Secretariat Office.
