Handwara, Oct 24: In a fit of rage, the controversial worker claiming to be associated with Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) tore his clothes to express his resentment against Mehbooba Mufti’s ‘flag remarks’.
Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti yesterday had said that she will not raise tri-color till Government of India returns Jammu Kashmir flag back.
The flag remarks of Mehbooba Mufti sparked protest with Congress Jammu and BJP were both on same page.
Javaid Qureshi who is also known as Javaid Molvi set the effigy of Mehbooba Mufti on fire in presence of some of his supporters in Handwara area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Quereshi tore his clothes and while pointing his finger towards his heart he said that ‘Trianga’ (Tricolor) stays here. “Where does Hindustan stays, it stays here. The respect for Tricolor is here and it won’t fade away.”
He warned Mehbooba Mufti of dire consequence and said that if she will insult tricolor again, he will dispatch her to Pakistan.
“Javaid Qureshi won’t allow Mehbooba to do this dual and dirty politics,” he said.
Pertinently, former MLC and senior vice president Sofi Yousuf has already declared that Qureshi is not associated with BJP.
Javaid Qureshi came to lime light when his multiple ‘provocative’ videos in which he was seen attacking and talking rough against Hurriyat leader Geelani and others, other than BJP activists started making rounds on social media.
He was part of Janata Dal United and later on switched over to BJP.
