SRINAGAR, November 7: Apni Party on Saturday convened a meeting of the Party workers at Kokernag which was chaired by the Party District Present and former MLA Abdul Rahim Rather.
The meeting was convened in connection with the preparations of the Party for elections to the District Development Council and the vacant Panchayat units across the district.
Speaking on the occasion Rather said that his party will fight these elections to keep the communal and pseudo-secular forces at bay.
He said that his party eagerly and realistically stands for protection of the interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and is opposed to the deceptive and hollow slogans.
“We have seen what the successive governments at the Centre, whichever the party was there in power; have never tried to address the alienation among people of Jammu and Kashmir in real sense,” Rather said.
The antipeople policies of the Centre and the orders that continue get issued from there are unacceptable and uncalled for, he added.
Apni Party District President Anantnag impressed upon the central government to adoot a humane approach to deal with the socio economic issues in Jammu and Kashmir.
During the course of meeting, the workers apprised about the erratic power conditions and un-rational and nonrealistic increase in their power bills.
They also complained about undue delay in the payments of MGNREGA works and PMAY cases.
He in turn impressed upon the authorities to look into these grievances and seek these redressed at an early.
Rather demanded that the Grid Station Buchoo should be augmented before winter so that the people fed from this station don’t suffer in the winter.
Rather was accompanied by Advocate Haji Faizan, who also spoke at the occasion.
