COVID-19: 08 patients die, 385 test positive in J&K

Total cases 95,710, 1,490 deaths; recovery rate over 92 percent in UT


Srinagar, Nov 02: Jammu and Kashmir Monday recorded eight Covid-19 related deaths taking the death toll to 1,490 in the Union Territory while 385 positive cases were reported pushing the J&K tally to 95,710.

Of the total 95,710 cases, 57,616 are from Kashmir and 38,094 from Jammu division. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 385 new cases, 251 belong to Kashmir division while as 134 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 57,616 including 52,250 recoveries and 991 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 38,094 including 35,890 recoveries and 499 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 6,080 including 4,375 from Kashmir division and 1,705 from Jammu division.

With 623 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 88,140 which is 92.09 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 71 from Srinagar, 16 from Budgam, 69 from Baramulla, 15 from Pulwama,  32 from Kupwara, 08 from Anantnag, 12 from Bandipora, 14 from Ganderbal, 02 from Kulgam and 12 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 134 from Jammu division include 108 from Jammu, 03 from Rajouri, 02 from Udhampur, 02 from Doda, 04 from Kuthua, 03 from Poonch, 03 from Samba, 02 from Kishtiwar and 07 from Ramban,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours, eight persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include five from Kashmir division and three from Jammu division.

As per media bulletin, patients who have died include two from Srinagar and one each from Baramulla, Pulwama and Kulgam in Kashmir division while as three deaths from Jammu division include one each from Jammu, Kishtiwar and Ramban.

As per officials figures, 19,592 positive cases including 360 deaths and 17,878 recoveries are from Srinagar, 6,038 including 94 deaths and 5,684 recoveries are from Budgam, 6,162 including 4,622 recoveries and 146 deaths are from Baramulla, 4,700 including 4,406 recoveries and 83 deaths are from Pulwama, 4,512 including 73 deaths and 4,026 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,255 including 3,991 recoveries and 74 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,059 cases including 3,836 and 46 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,586 including 3,358 recoveries and 33 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,492 including 2,356 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,220 including 2,093 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 17,784 including 16,829 recoveries and 259 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,204 including 3,101 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Rajouri, 2,731 including 2,584 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,663 including 2,515 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Doda, 2,457 including 2,366 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Kuthua, 2,261 including 2,065 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,179 including 1,879 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Samba, 1,926 including  1,849 recoveries and 15 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,608 including 1,504 recoveries and 14 deaths are from Ramban and 1,281 including 1,198 recoveries and 08 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin, 659,752 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 15,765 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 6,080 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 590,829 persons have completed surveillance period and 45,588 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 2,343,543 samples are available.

Out of 2,343,543 the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,247,833 while as 95,710 have tested positive, among them 6,080 are active, 88,140 persons have recovered and 1,490 persons have died.
