DDC Elections: Over 17 per cent polling recorded in three panchayat blocks in Bandipora till 11 am

Bandipora, Nov 28:  Over 17 per cent polling has been recorded till 11 am in three panchayat blocks that went to polls on Saturday for district development council elections in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer(KNO) that three panchayat blocks have recorded 17. 87 per cent polling till 11 am.

Pertinently, in the first phase of DDC elections, Gurez, Tulail and Sumbal panchayat blocks went to polls today. Polling started at 7 am and will end at 2 pm.

He said that Sumbal block has so far recorded the highest polling percentage at 22. 4 per cent till 9 am, while Tulail block recorded 21. 4 per cent and Gurez 8. 42 per cent. “The overall percentage in three blocks till 11 am stands at 17. 87 per cent,” he said.

He said that 3022 voters have cast their votes in Sumbal block while 1938 electors in Tulail and 844 electors in Gurez block have cast their votes so far.
