507 fresh cases test positive; 9 fresh deaths take death toll to 1558, recovery rate over 92 per cent in UT


Srinagar, Nov 11: Jammu and Kashmir’s Covid tally Wednesday crossed one lakh mark even as 507 fresh cases tested positive while nine deaths were reported as well in the Union Territoy.

The death toll in the UT has reached 1558. Of the exact number of 100,351 positive cases, 60,502 are from Kashmir and 39,849 from Jammu division. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 507 new cases, 326 belong to Kashmir division while as 181 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 60,502 including 55,589 recoveries and 1,034 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 39,849 including 37,724 recoveries and 524 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 5,480 including 3,879 from Kashmir division and 1,601 from Jammu division.

With 433 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 93,313 which is 92.98 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 140 from Srinagar, 40 from Baramulla, 31 from Budgam, 11 from Pulwama,   32 from Kupwara, 14 from Anantnag, 08 from Bandipora, 44 from Ganderbal, 04 from Kulgam and 02 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 181 from Jammu division include 94 from Jammu, 08 from Rajouri, 20 from Udhampur, 13 from Doda, 12 from Kuthua, 03 from Poonch, 03 from Samba, 19 from Kishtiwar, 05 from Ramban and 04 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours nine persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include five from Kashmir division and four from Jammu division.

As per media bulletin, patients who have died include two each from Srinagar and Baramulla and one from Kupwara in Kashmir division while as four deaths from Jammu division include two from Jammu district and one each from Udhampur and Doda.

As per officials figures, 20,845 positive cases including 385 deaths and 19,036 recoveries are from Srinagar, 6,594 including 153 deaths and 5,689 recoveries are from Baramulla, 6,345 including 5,943 recoveries and 95 deaths are from Budgam, 4,804 including 4,588 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Pulwama, 4,734 including 76 deaths and 4,215 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,359 including 4,094 recoveries and 75 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,175 cases including 3,970 and 48 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,847 including 3,512 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,533 including 2,400 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,266 including 2,142 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 18,656 including 17,698 recoveries and 273 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,282 including 3,144 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Rajouri, 2,907 including 2,667 recoveries and 33 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,755 including 2,601 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Doda, 2,551 including 2,452 recoveries and 33 deaths are from Kuthua, 2,320 including 2,228 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,239 including 2,140 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Samba, 2,094 including 1,943 recoveries and 15 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,702 including 1,584 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Ramban and 1,343 including 1,267 recoveries and 08 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin, 701,640 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 16,989 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 5,480 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 635,764 persons have completed surveillance period and 41,849 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 2,551,946 samples are available.

Out of 2,551,946 the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,451,595 while as 100,351 have tested positive, among them 5,480 are active, 93,313 persons have recovered and 1,558 persons have died.
