Drusso Rafiabad face acute water scarcity as PHE fails to repair pipeline

Srinagar, Nov 24: The city of Srinagar is facing severe problems due to an unwarranted cut of clean drinking water.

Locals told news agency KDC that water is supplied for a few hours in the morning and evening hours, after which the water supply is cut off throughout the day and night.

The unavailability of clean drinking water in the city of Srinagar has taken a serious turn. What is the option? People are very worried about the severe shortage of water.

The cut in the supply of clean drinking water by the Irrigation Department has become a problem for the urban population as their clean drinking water is provided for a few hours in the morning and evening hours and the water supply is cut off during the rest of the day and night.

People said that winter has not even started yet and the Irrigation Department has started cutting water supply. Due to non-availability of water, people are longing for a drop of water.

“Water is provided for a few hours in the morning and water is supplied for a few hours in the evening, so do people need water in those two hours, how can they spend the rest of the day without water,” they asked.

They said that we do not even have a canal whose water is used and there is no tube well. People said that even though there is electricity, the water supply is cut off which is surprising.

Meanwhile, People have appealed to the top officials of the PHE department to take steps to provide uninterrupted water supply to the population of Srinagar city. (KDC)
