Awantipora, 30 November: Awantipora police on Monday claimed to have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances suspected to be charas from their possession near Toll Plaza Charsoo Awantipora,a police spokesman said.
An official told news agency—Fast Kashmir (FK) that during Vechilar checking by police near Toll Plaza Charsoo,police party intercepted a santro vechile bearing registration number JK01N-4631.
During search of the said vechile 400 Grams of contraband suspected to be charas was recovered from the car.
He further added that the vechile used for the commission of the offence has also been seized.
A senior police officer identified the arrested drug peddlers as Manzoor Ahmad Beigh resident of Malpora Khag Budgam and Mohd Iqbal Mir resident of Iskanderpora Beerwah area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
He said that a case FIR No.179/2020 under relevant sections of law stands registered at police station awantipora and further investigation is taken up,he said.
