Sopore, 14 Dec: The fisherman community staged protest in north Kashmir’s Sopore town alleging negligence in distribution of low cost houses scheme under PMMSY.
The president Fisherman union, Farooq Jabbar while talking with our correspondent Peerzada Tahir he said, “On 4th of Dec this month fisheries department Sopore noticed the list of holders in a local daily, but number of persons were outlisted from the scheme”.
He also alleged, since 20 years no employee from Fisheries department Sopore has been transferred, which smells rat in it.
The protesters said, net is being used to catch the fishes which is totally against the law and nobody from the department dares to take action against it.
Meanwhile fisherman community congratulates the newly appointed Director, Mr Bashir Ahmed and appealing the official to look into the matter as the matter is utmost urgent.
When our correspondent contacted the ADM Fisheries department Sopore Mr. Mohammad Shafi, the official said, “Our survey team has been deputed to the areas and we are checking the facts.
He assured that the matter will be strictly dealted and will resolve the issue soon.
About the querry regarding transfering of employees, He said currently code of conduct is implemented and after that it would be taken seriously.
