Shopain, 02 Dec: The residents of Raben area in shopain and Kulgam district are up in arms against the authorities as the dilapidated condition of Reban-Yaripora road is giving tough time to commuters and passersby.
Residents told news agency— Fast Kashmir that the authorities are playing hide and seek with us as construction and widening of Raben area of south Kashmir’s to Yaripora road in Kulgam district is still incomplete and is in shambles from several years.
The bad condition of Raben-Yaripora road is causing immense inconvenience to commuters.
“This road is turning into the deadliest road where many accidents took place. People prefer to walk instead of travelling in a vehicle,” Gulzar Ahmed, a local told FK.
“The school going children and patients particularly pregnant women are suffering immensely as this road has developed ditches at many spots,” another local Aakash Mehraj said.
Locals have applied authorities to macdamize the road as they face many problems in their daily life.
A local sumo driver Yaqoob lone told Fast Kashmir, who ferries passengers from Reban-Yaripora and also srinagar on daily basis said. “we have to face a lot of problems due to the bad condition of road. Our vehicles suffer damage to the extent that we have to repair them once every month. He appealed the administration to macadamize the road as soon as possible.
Locals also claim during rainfall, the potholes on the road, which are filled by rainwater, posing threat to lives, adding despite many assurances from the state authorities, the authorities, chose to turn deaf ear to our genuine demands, we appeal the Governor to intervene into the matter.
