Srinagar, 19 Dec: The Drass belt of Kargil district became the coldest place in the Union Territory of Ladakh on Thursday, recording a minimum temperature of minus 29.0 degrees Celsius, Kashmir Weather, an independent weather forecaster said.

This was the season’s lowest temperature in Drass, down from previous night’s minus 28.5°C, he added.

He said, Leh and Kargil also recorded season’s lowest temperatures last night at minus 16.4 degrees Celsius and minus 21.1 degrees Celsius respectively.

Kashmir Weather has forecast of mainly dry weather till Christmas with chance of rain/snow at one or two places on 21 and 22 Dec.
