Awantipora, 29 November: Awantipora police on Monday claimed to have arrested one drug peddler near Kawani crossing area of awantipora and seized 01 Kg contraband substances suspected to be charas (in shape of powder)from the possession of arrested person,
An official told news agency—Fast Kashmir (FK)that police party on naka duty at Kawani crossing and arrested drug peddler when said person was moving in suspicious circumstances.
A senior police officer identified the arrested drug peddler as Farooq Ahmad Ganie resident of Braw Bandina area of Awantipora.
He said that a case FIR No.181/2020 under relevant sections of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) act has been registered at police station awantipora and further investigation is taken up,he said.
