Srinagar, 19 Dec: Relief from the cold wave sweeping Jammu and Kashmir regions is expected during the next 48 hours as temperatures are expected to rise.
Kashmir Weather, an independent weather forecaster, has predicted a slight rise in night temperature tonight.
“A Western Disturbance is going to affect Jammu and Kashmir from tomorrow. Some relief is expected from the freezing cold weather as minimums are expected to rise during the next 48 hours. Cloud cover associated with WD will help in the improvement of night temperature.”, he said.
He added, “Weather at most places in Jammu and Kashmir is likely to remain dry till 26th December.”
Last night, Srinagar recorded the coldest night temperature of the season as mercury went down to minus 6.6 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature today recorded in Srinagar was 8.2 degrees, 1 degree Celsius below normal.
