Bandipora, 13 Jan: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmed, a lady was airlifted from snowbound Gurez to Bandipora for immediate medical aid.
An official told news agency Kashmir Dot Com that a lady Toiba Manzoor daughter of Manzoor Ahmad Lone of Badugam Tulail was fallen yesterday from her home and received serious head injury and doctor advised for further treatment at SKIMS Soura.
He said “The district administration received an SOS from the family for evacuation of the patient.”
The DC immediately directed to arrange a special chopper to airlift the patient and the patient was evicted today from Badugam to Bandipora then SKIMS Soura for further treatment, he added.
The snow-clad Gurez Valley remains cut off from the rest of the world during winters owing to heavy snowfall in the valley. (KDC)
