Jammu, Jan 10: Dismayed over disregard to regional players, the cricket lovers across Jammu and Kashmir have shown serious resentment against the authorities for not showing due regard to the local players, playing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Jammu and Kashmir team is set to play the first match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Karnataka today.

The cricket lovers across the UT while talking with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that unlike other teams none of the fantasy league has given space to the Jammu and Kashmir team which raising concerns of the people.

Dream 11, one of the premier fantasy league and many others have not made the J&K team available in the options for fantasy games while most of the teams playing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy are available in the option slot.

The citizens rued that even the local administration hasn’t considered the only team to be there among others.

Tahir Ahmad Lone, one of the cricket lover from Nowshera area of Baramulla while expressing his dismay over the absence of the Jammu and Kashmir team from the fantasy league said that this shows the amount of regard given to the star cricketers from J&K outside the valley, who over the years have grown and come up very strong against all other opponents.

Asif Awan, another resident said that the absence of the J&K team from the fantasy league is itself a question and raises fingers at the local cricketing administration as to why they didn’t raise the issue with concerned authorities.

“Star cricketers like, Pervaiz Rasool and Abdul Samad, who recently showcased great caliber and talent in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and others are part of the team still the concerned authorities have shown disregard towards our team,” Nasir Nabi a cricket lover from Kupwara said.

He said it’s truly a matter of great concern and dissatisfaction that even the local administration didn’t honor its team with the amount of honor and support it deserves as J&K has got great players.

Mudasir Ahmad, a fantasy player from Kokernag Anantnag told KNO that the absence of the J&K team from the fantasy league is questionable.

The cricket lovers have raised questions on JKCA as well for not taking up the matter earlier with the concerned authorities.

The cricket lovers across the UT especially from the valley have demanded that J&K be placed among all other teams and due to honor and respect be given to them.

They also demanded that the J&K team must be placed in fantasy leagues ahead of the next match scheduled on Tuesday.
