Srinagar, Jan 04: After fresh snowfall and subsequent closure of Srinagar-Jammu highway, the divisional administration Kashmir on Monday stated that there is adequate stock of essential commodities and that there was no need to worry about anything.

Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, P K Pole told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that there is adequate stock of essential commodities in the Valley. “For the higher reaches and the other areas which remain cut-off during the winter period, we have kept ration for 4-6 months stocked for the people to ensure they will suffer during the harsh winter period,” he said.

He added that enough stock of petrol products is also available. “There is no need to worry,” he said.

Pertinently, Kashmir received moderate snowfall, resulting in closure of the only road connecting Valley with rest of the States and also led to the suspension of air traffic.

The weatherman has also predicted heavy to very heavy snowfall during next two days in Kashmir
