Srinagar, Jan 19: The Enforcement Wing of Lakes and Waterways Development Authority under the supervision of Enforcement Officer, Mr. Showkat Hussain Kawa conducted the Special demolition operation in the area of Nowpora, Bagh-i-Roop Singh Miskeen Bagh, Chandpora Harwan & Saderbal
which falls within LDA Jurisdiction. During the demolition drive, one basement, one shop, (one No) single storey, (Two No) second storeys, (one No) third storey, one Showroom & one wooden truss, raised illegally by the violators were demolished onspot. During the demolition drive there was a stiff resistance in the area of Nowpora & Bagh-i-Roop Singh Miskeen Bagh from the assembled crowd at site who attacked the demolition squad members in which one demolition squad member namely Mr. Mehraj-ud-din Khanday got injured.
In this regard, all the public residing within the LDA jurisdiction & in lake are hereby directed not to go for any sort of illegal constructions / encroachments, without obtaining proper building permission from the competent authority. Strict action in terms of conducting demolitions followed by lodging of FIR’s will be taken against those violators who tries to raise the constructions in the In-Lake / Green Belt areas (200mts). The Enforcement wing will continue its demolition drives in future against illegal constructions/ encroachments in the prohibited areas. Moreover the Tipper/Load carried owners are directed not carry / ferry any construction material in the prohibited area of Dal/ Nigeen Lake without getting necessary carriage permission and in case anybody found shall be dealt as per law.
