Farmers open multiple fronts as violence marks tractor rally

New Delhi/Chandigarh, Jan 26:  A high alert has been sounded in the states of Punjab and Haryana following massive clashes that erupted in the national capital here on Tuesday.
“In view of the violent incidents in several areas during the ‘Farmers Tractor March’ in Delhi on Republic Day, Director General of Police of Haryana, Manoj Yadava issued a ‘high alert’ directing all district police chiefs to be extremely vigilant,” the Haryana Police said adding that the miscreants and rioters will not be spared.
Earlier Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh ordered a high alert in Punjab and directed Director General of Police Dinkar Gupta to ensure that law and order in the state is not deteriorated at any cost.
Violent clashes erupted today when a section of farmers decided to enter Delhi to register their protest against the three contentious farm laws. According to sources, one farmer has so far lost his life.
